About me & MY GOALS

I am married to my beautiful wife, Julie Payne, and we have a beautiful little girl, Joan, born June 27, 2018.  My wife and I were both born and raised in Edmonton, although we moved to Calgary after the Rio 2016 Olympic Games to accelerate my gymnastics career and put us in a place where I have the best chance to achieve my goals.

On my journey to Tokyo 2020, I am looking for sponsorships to help support me in training, competition and recovery. There is a direct correlation between access to funds and the amount of time I can dedicate to training, competition, and recovery.  Therefore, the more time I have to train, compete and recover, the more opportunity I will have to reach my goals.

Being a full time Canadian athlete and a part-time student at the University of Calgary, it is difficult to find and raise the funds necessary to pay for life and all of my training, competition and recovery fees. All and any amount of donations, sponsorships, follows, likes and comments are appreciated and never overlooked!

To give back to sponsorships, I have had experience attending special events as a guest/motivational speaker, can be available for autographs/pictures as an Olympic athlete, have modeled for photo shoots, can post/advertise on social media and through my webpage, and potentially participate or star in impactful commercials with the special skill set I have developed in my sport.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and read a little bit about me!  To know more about me or just wanting to help out, please contact me at my email or phone number (see on webpage).  You can also follow me on Instagram and Facebook to get updates on all my training, competitions and everyday life as I gear toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

I have competed and represented Canada over 50 times in more than 20 countries on the World stage. I was named to Team Canada for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after overcoming an achilles tendon rupture just 11 months prior to the 2016 Rio Olympic trials. I am a 4 time All-Around Canadian National Champion and a Commonwealth Games Silver Medalist. I have competed in five World Championships and have won multiple medals at various International World Cup events.

I am an “All-Around athlete” (competitor on all 6 apparatus) but my specialties are the Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars, and High Bar.  These are the events where I have my best chance to achieve my highest goals and become Olympic and World Champion.

I am also a student studying Exercise and Health Physiology, BSc Major, in the Kinesiology Faculty at the University of Calgary.
